Item Description

The Samsung PM991a 256GB is a compact M.2 2242 NVMe PCIe solid‑state drive designed for modern thin laptops, mini PCs, and small‑form‑factor systems where space is limited but performance still matters. By using the NVMe protocol over a PCIe interface, it delivers significantly faster sequential and random performance than traditional SATA SSDs and mechanical hard drives.

This 2242 ‑length drive is commonly used in ultraportable notebooks, handheld devices, and compact desktops that require a short M.2 module. It is an excellent choice for replacing a failing or undersized drive, refreshing an older system, or building a low‑profile PC with quick storage access for everyday office work, study, browsing, and light productivity tasks.

Condition: This is a fully tested refurbished item in excellent condition.

Product Specifications

Compatible Models and Systems

This drive is suitable for laptops, mini PCs, and compact systems that explicitly support M.2 2242 NVMe PCIe SSDs. It is commonly found in certain ultraportable notebooks, handheld gaming PCs, and small‑form‑factor builds where only a 30 mm M.2 module will fit.

Compatibility Notes

Before ordering, confirm that your device supports NVMe PCIe drives in the M.2 slot and that it accepts the 2242 (42 mm) length. Some systems support only 2242/2260/2280 lengths or only M.2 SATA, not NVMe. If unsure, check your laptop or motherboard manual, existing drive label, or manufacturer specifications. This drive is not suitable for M.2 SATA‑only slots, 2.5‑inch SATA bays, or mSATA interfaces.
